A Race a Plenty.

I had the pleasure of attending the 4th annual Texas Motor Speedway Duathlon yesterday morning. It was a windy start with a chill in the air when nearly 350 participants started the run portion of the run-bike-run. Men and women young and old, from first time racers to pre-professional athletes enjoyed a great course with no distractions like stop lights or cars.
Our very own shop manager, Jeff, took 1st place in his age group and 14th overall. KUDOS!

With all this friendly competition and awesome bicycles to gawk at there was one disturbing occurance: cheating. Out on the cycling course several riders were guilty of drafting and "blocking" others. In a race against the clock these tactics are clearly forbidden. Racers were reminded of this at the start line.

When you do your first race, 50th triathlon or 500th century rally, respect the organisers and other participants and play by the rules. Everybody wants a fair competition and nobody likes a cheater. Make your accomplishments count.
